The number is : 1132902
For those of you wishing to donate to our Charity, please note you can now quote this number in respect of any giving you may do via your income tax returns, or through any schemes your employer may run allowing you to give to charity through PAYE.
Once again many thanks to all involved and a lovely early Christmas present for us all.
Ed’s Swimathon
September 23rd, 2009Hi Im Ed, I am trying to raise money by doing a swimathon for the silver lining charity. I suffer from a condition called spastic dystonia, which causes me discomfort walking on dry land so water is an excellent medium for me to exercise in. This sparked an interest in swimming some years ago,
But it was only on discovering the Shaw technique; which works alongside the core principles of alexander technique (artofswimming.com) that I realised the true potential of swimming regularly. So I will be swimming at the nuffield wellness centre, Sheldon Square, Paddington from 5.30pm on Friday 13th November. If you wish to sponsor me please send pledges to edwardhamilton2000@yahoo.com, Thankyou. Iwill be available for drinks afterwards at Zizzis Italian restaurant, Sheldon Square all welcome!
Andy’s Concert
June 11th, 2009A big thankyou to everyone who braved the tube strike to come and enjoy the debut performance of Andy’s flute sonata compositions.
For those who weren’t able to make it the venue was astounding, both visually and audibly.
Ed Lewis and the Templar Ensemble with Helen on Flute gave a masterful introduction with Bach’s Orchestral Suite No 2 in B Minor and Vivaldi’s Flute Concerto in D Major.
Andy gave a moving introductory speech about his composition and how he is working towards his recovery.
Then the main attraction. The ensemble gave a beautiful rendition of Andy’s work’s and certainly to these uninitiated ears it was impossible to tell where the masters Bach and Vivaldi ended and Andy started.
Pictures to come!
Andrew Wenham Prosser Concert
May 28th, 2009On the 10th of June at St John Smiths Square in London, The Templar Ensemble will be carrying out the debut performance of a trilogy of flute sonatas, composed by Andrew Wenham-Prosser during his period of recovery from a brain injury.
The concert supports Andy’s dreams of being a professional composer.
This charity concert shall raise funds for The Falklands Conservation who gives needed aid to Penguins, a species greatly loved by Andy.
Andy hopes that the audience for this concert shall be touched by his music.
Registration
May 27th, 2009The Silverlining has been actively working with John Gander of Charity Solutions - to whom we send a big thankyou - to become a fully registered UK Charity.
We would also like to thank Tony Williams for his contribution to our registration process.
Please watch this space for details of our UK Charity Registration No.

For anyone who hasn’t yet heard we currently have 10 places - a table - still available. Why not call Dr Baehr or her secretary and arrange for a fabulous night out and help a great charity as well!
The Night
The ball is once again be held at the wonderful St George’s Hill Lawn Tennis Club (www.stghltc.co.uk) and with our current spate of lovely weather I think we should have a fantastic evening, with the possibility of dancing and chatting by the gorgeous lake whilst listening to the wonderful music of Jimmy Golding and his band (http://jimmygolding.com/). Jimmy plays a lot of venues in London and is a fabulous entertainer.
The evening will start at 7:00pm with a Jazz reception, a complementary glass of bubbly and a chance to meet new friends, followed by a three course sit down dinner (reminder: anyone who has special dietary needs, please, please contact me now!) During the evening, we have a raffle with a raft of great prizes (£5 a ticket), an open outcry auction and a silent auction. Once again thankyou soooo much to all those kind people and businesses who have donated these wonderful gifts. Afterwards there will be chance to dance and drink the night away until midnight.
