Our expert brain injury solicitors

Thompsons Solicitors is one of the most experienced personal injury law firms in the UK. For almost 100 years, we have helped injured people to secure hundreds of millions of pounds in compensation for life-changing injuries.

At Thompsons, our specialists understand how severe a brain injury can be and the impact it can have on an individual and their family. Our brain injury solicitors have helped adults and children and their families to get compensation to cover costs such as medical treatment, rehabilitation and changes in lifestyle.

We’re proud to work closely with The Silverlining Brain Injury Charity in their invaluable work providing additional advice and support to our clients who have suffered a brain injury.

How we will support you

Our expert serious injury solicitors have decades of experience in securing brain injury compensation for individuals and their families. No matter how complex the case is, Thompsons knows how to fight to ensure you get the maximum achievable compensation. Here are just some of the steps we will take to support you:

  • Instructing the best and most appropriate medical experts to assess the impact of your head injury and the effects it will have on your lifestyle, your work and your future
  • Working closely with specialist head injury experts who are able to holistically evaluate whether you need additional treatment, rehabilitation or other forms of support
  • In every case possible, securing interim payment(s) to cover the costs of any urgent rehabilitation or home adaptions you need.

Why trust Thompsons Solicitors?

At Thompsons, we are a little different. Lots of lawyers will claim expertise but we have followed principles that have remained unchanged since our foundation in 1921. For nearly 100 years we have only ever acted for injured people and refused to act for those who defend claims like insurers. Our breadth of expertise, our having been around the block a few times and knowing all the tricks insurers will play, is available to every lawyer in every case. In practical terms that means not only do we work hard to secure the maximum compensation for our clients in the shortest possible time, but we also work emphatically to make sure our clients get the best support and rehabilitation services to give them the best possible chance of recovering from their injuries.

Thompsons is fully regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Our personal injury and medical negligence lawyers are accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), and Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA). We’re also recognised by leading legal industry guides, including Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500, and are listed in Headway, UKABIF and BrainNav’s directories as approved solicitors.

Patrick’s Story

Patrick was working on a scaffolding gantry when it gave way, causing him to fall 23 feet to the ground. Patrick’s injuries were so severe that his family was told he would not survive. Following his accident, Patrick spent four years in hospital undergoing intensive rehabilitation. We acted on Patrick’s behalf in a compensation claim and in addition to a substantial final award we secured an interim payment, which enabled Patrick to move into a bungalow and have the home adaptions needed to be able to live as independently as possible.
