A Message From Our Founder

I have worked in brain injury for over 30 years and I have seen and worked with individuals at every stage of their recovery. I have always been concerned about the long term challenges of those affected and their families.

Unfortunately, life with brain injury presents many challenges and once leaving the support and understanding of the rehabilitation system, many suffer from social isolation and lack of purpose. My clinical experience was telling me that there had to be a better way to help all those involved over the longer term, and the spark of that hunch gave rise to the Silverlining.

The Silverlining was designed to try to address the human need for connection, understanding and meaning by bringing people together.

I had no idea that it would grow and take hold so fast, but over the years, those first glimmers of light behind the clouds have blossomed into full sunshine. From humble beginnings, The Silverlining Charity has grown to support hundreds of individuals across the South and South East. But, there is always more work to do and more people to help. The Silverlining team are working hard to ensure this innovative Charity continues to grow, thrive and unite the brain injury community.

I would like to thank everyone in the Silverlining family who has helped The Silverlining Charity come this far and I would like to invite anyone who would like to help The Silverlining Charity to grow further to speak with us.
